TELUS Digital Ireland has partnered with Cork ARC Cancer Support House to enhance its therapeutic outdoor space, offering a tranquil setting for rest, reflection and support to those that have had a cancer diagnosis as well as their loved ones. 70 team members volunteered their time as part of the annual ‘TELUS Days of Giving’ - part of the joint Global #WaveofPurple initiative, which is held across 10 countries.
Volunteers from TELUS Digital’s Cork and Dublin teams improved the garden area at Cork ARC, contributing to a serene environment where people and families impacted by cancer can access outdoor activities and receive counselling. The upgraded space reinforces Cork ARC’s commitment to providing a warm and welcoming environment for all who visit.
Speaking on the partnership, Stephen Teap, Chief Executive Officer of Cork ARC Cancer Support House said: “Cork ARC provides a sanctuary for those affected by cancer, offering free emotional and practical support to those that have had a cancer diagnosis and their loved ones. Creating peaceful, restorative spaces is central to our mission, and we’re deeply grateful to TELUS Digital for helping us develop this outdoor haven for the thousands of people we support each year.”
Tony Barry, Vice President of Finance of TELUS Digital said: “We’re delighted to partner with Cork ARC for this year’s TELUS Days of Giving. Our volunteering days are a cornerstone of our community engagement, and I’m incredibly proud of our team members for living our values—demonstrating teamwork, care and a commitment to local impact. Cork ARC provides essential support to the community, and we’re honoured to contribute to their work”.
TELUS Days of Giving is TELUS Digital’s signature global volunteer movement that brings team members together to volunteer and give back in support of their local communities. In 2024, over 100 TELUS Digital Ireland volunteers transformed an unused area in Fota Wildlife Park into a calming garden for public enjoyment.
Since 2016, over 130,000 TELUS Digital team members have contributed over half a million volunteer hours - reinforcing the company’s culture of giving where they live, year-round. TELUS Digital teams across the world demonstrate their social purpose in action through volunteerism and charitable giving, including five TELUS Digital Community Boards.
