SERVE is excited to present Rapunzel: A Cork Christmas Untangled! — a joyful, family-friendly Christmas pantomime running at the Scala Retreat Centre, Blackrock, from 17–21 December 2025.
Featuring over 50 talented young performers from across Cork, including members of the Scala Musical Theatre Group, this brand-new production promises festive magic, music, laughter, and a whole lot of Cork charm. Children and teens aged 6–17 are currently rehearsing weekly in Scala, bringing this imaginative retelling of Rapunzel to life through song, dance, and storytelling.
The creative team describe rehearsals as “electric, energetic, and bursting with talent,” with a cast full of confidence, kindness, and enthusiasm.
While audiences can expect all the fun, mischief, and sparkle of a traditional panto, the production also shines a light on a bigger purpose.
Proceeds from Rapunzel: A Cork Christmas Untangled! support SERVE’s youth development and education programmes in Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique through the Skills for Youth Resilience Programme (SYRP) — helping young people access vocational training, life skills, and start-up kits to build brighter futures.
“This show is a celebration of community and creativity,” said Paula Quigley from SERVE. “Our young performers here in Cork are using their talents to uplift other young people across the world. Audiences are genuinely in for something special this Christmas.”
