Rainbow Club awarded AmCham’s 2025 Southern Cairdeas Award

Rainbow Club Cork Centre for Autism have been awarded AmCham’s 2025 Southern Cairdeas Award. AmCham’s Southern Cairdeas Award is presented to an individual or organisation from the not-for-profit-sector in the Southern region which has strongly demonstrated community impact.

The Rainbow Club provides services and support to autistic people and their families, from early years into adulthood. Over 1,300 families avail of Rainbow Club's services weekly, through social groups, sports programmes, art therapy, parent supports, gaming groups, alternative education, after school respite and more. In 2025, the Rainbow Club is celebrating 10 years since its opening in 2015.

The organisation is
currently based in Mahon Community Centre, and has been seeking a new home for several years. It now looks set to secure their new home in a former health centre in Mahon, with the proposal expected to be ratified at a full council meeting soon.

Karen and Jon O' Mahony, founders of Rainbow Club, will be attending the AmCham Southern Dinner in The Maryborough Hotel on September 25th, to accept the award from AmCham and EU Commissioner Michael McGrath.
