Griffith College has launched a fully funded Sustainability Reporting programme to help organisations prepare for the new ESG and compliance obligations emerging under EU legislation.
The Certificate in Sustainable Reporting and Transformation is a QQI Level 9 qualification delivered fully online over 12 weeks and now open to participants in Cork. Funding is available through Enterprise Ireland’s Climate Action Voucher, making the programme accessible at no cost to eligible companies.
Designed with industry needs in mind, the course provides practical, workplace-focused upskilling for professionals involved in sustainability reporting, compliance, risk management, procurement, supply chain oversight, and strategic planning. With just one evening class per week and one online Saturday workshop per module, the programme is structured to fit seamlessly around a busy work schedule.
Supporting Organisations Ahead of New Reporting Obligations
With the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) already in effect for many organisations, and new VSME standards on the way, businesses across all sectors are expected to build internal capability in sustainability reporting and responsible operations.
This new programme enables employers to:
Build in-house sustainability and ESG expertise rather than relying solely on external consultants
Prepare teams for mandatory reporting and disclosure obligations
Equip cross-functional departments-Finance, Operations, Procurement, Compliance, ESG-with shared frameworks and practical tools
Strengthen readiness for sustainability audits and supply chain reviews
Embed a culture of responsible and compliant business practices through accredited learning
Programme Structure
The programme comprises two workplace-aligned modules totalling 10 credits:
1. Fostering Sustainable Practices
Covers CSRD requirements, mandatory disclosures and the EU sustainability frameworks organisations must prepare for by 2027.
2. Building Resilience and Compliance
Designed for SMEs and those managing SME suppliers, this module provides a practical toolkit for ESG risk assessment, sustainable procurement, metrics, and supply chain impacts.
Assessments are directly aligned to each participant’s professional role, ensuring that learning outcomes translate into real organisational impact.
