About Us

Having seen the need for patients to have access to this painless and efficient liver scanning diagnostic test, LiverScan was founded by Dr. William Stack and Prof. Diarmaid Houlihan at The Lee Clinic in Cork. At LiverScan we use a FibroScan to assess liver health by measuring liver fibrosis (scarring) and liver fat level. Liver disease which can be silent (no symptoms) is a leading cause of mortality in Ireland from the ages of 20-60 years - a fact that is poorly recognized. Early detection allows scope for intervention to prevent long term liver damage.
