Nicolas Cage (in one of his signature film roles) and Laura Dern play Sailor and Lula, two young lovers who are truly wild at heart in this erotic, violent and darkly-humorous road movie. This twisted homage to THE WIZARD OF OZ finds the couple on the run from Lula’s wicked-witch mother who has put a murder contract out on Sailor. On 15 January 2025, we lost David Lynch, one of the most original, singular and unique artists of American cinema and television in the last fifty years. Some of his most notable films include ERASERHEAD, BLUE VELVET and WILD AT HEART as well as of course the seminal TV series TWIN PEAKS. The term ‘Lynchian’ is used to describe something that has a dreamlike quality with an air of mystery or menace. His work was also laced with a wonderfully off-the-wall sense of humour. To mark his passing and to celebrate his legacy, Triskel Arts Centre will screen six of his finest feature length films.
