Don't miss the World Premiere of The Nightingale and the Rose, a new opera by John O'Brien, in partnership with Cork Orchestral Society. With Cara O’Sullivan and Majella Cullagh
This September, the Everyman Theatre is proud to present the world premiere concert performance of a brand new opera by virtuoso, John O’Brien. Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s timeless story, The Nightingale and the Rose, it stars Cara O’Sullivan and Majella Cullagh.
For the past year, John has been working on this beautiful new composition. In a very special one-off concert performance, the Everyman will gather together some of the finest singers and musicians, in partnership with Cork Orchestral Society, to give the music its first breath.
John is a conductor, director, and composer of extraordinary talents. He has worked on over forty different productions of opera and musical theatre in Ireland, the UK and Canada, and has toured across Europe, Japan and China. He is acclaimed for directing and conducting Faust, Der Vampyr, (both nominated for Best Opera - ITTA) Orpheus, and Pagliacci (winner Best Opera - ITTA) at the Everyman Theatre.
This is an extraordinary chance to see the first presentation of a new work; an evening
of operatic enchantment which should not be missed!
