It’s All About the Users: Introduction to UX

UX Enhancement Solutions is a consultancy based in Cork, specialising in user experience research and design. We help enterprises and startups create and improve their digital products - software, websites and apps - so they can satisfy the needs of their end users.

Speakers:

Amir Shiloh
A former Journalist and online media executive in my native Israel, I’ve gradually shifted from content to product management and user experience. After working as a designer in a studio for a few years I founded my independent practice last year, and recently relocated to Ireland.

Aideen Lawlor
My background is as a research psychologist specialising in Human Computer Interaction. I apply psychological principles and research methods to identify and solve user pain points through intuitive design.
We will: define the term “User Experience” and present its main principles; explain some of its key elements (such as user personas, user stories, flows and use cases); cover some of the main research techniques and psychological theories that are used in UX; and finally demonstrate how all of this is implemented in product design.

Topics covered will include:

  • What is UX?
  • How UX is used in digital product design?
  • What is the role of research in UX?
  • Introduction to some primary UX research methods
  • Understanding the basics of user psychology
