Ireland’s Summer Opera Festival returns in 2025, with the headline production A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Benjamin Britten. Directed by Patrick Mason and featuring the Irish Chamber Orchestra under the baton of David Brophy, the headline opera will take centre stage for four evening performances on 28, 30, 31 May, and 1 June in the grounds of Lismore Castle, Waterford. Hospitality will once again take centre stage, with Eunice Power crafting formal opera dining, and with gourmet table picnics and fine wines to enjoy as part of this key cultural highlight at Lismore Castle.
BVOF 2025 offers a rich programme of concerts, recitals, educational outreach and events at historic homes and venues, including Salterbridge House, Villierstown Church, and Tourin House. Highlights include Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at St Carthage’s Cathedral, Lismore, on 27 and 29 May, and concerts at Dromore Yard featuring Niamh O’Sullivan, Paula Murrihy, and the Irish Baroque Orchestra.
Free Open-Air Recitals will extend the festival magic to communities in Lismore, Dungarvan, Youghal, and Castlemartyr. Limited Tickets Now Available at www.blackwatervalleyopera.ie
